Call for Entries: Alumni from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

Entry Process: Submit 3 to 5 images of representational, 2D art, an artist statement and resume to info at meinhartsgallery dot com or gallery’s postal by July 15th (Images sent through email should be Jpeg format, and should be 800-1000 pixels). There is no Entry fee, this is a trust agreement that the artist will deliver works to the gallery by July 20th. Advertisement of the individual artists will take place on the 16th of July, after submission deadline. If one does not commit to delivery of said artworks by July 20th or another date agreed to by appointment, by the 27th, their name will be removed from advertisement and no longer considered by the gallery for exhibitions.

Calender:

Accepted works: Notified before or by July 16th
Delivery: July 9th – 13th, 16th – 20th
Hanging: (optional time for the delivery of artwork and hanging own wall): 23rd - 27th
Opening Show: August 2nd, First Friday, 6-10pm
Reception: August 3rd, 1-4pm
End of Exhibition: September 28th

Presentation: Work must be ready to hang. Works that need glass such as drawings should be properly framed.

Eligibility: Artists must have graduated with a BFA or Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, which should be clear in the submitted resume. No artworks over 60”x80” accepted.

Sales: The gallery takes 45% of retail price. After the exhibition the artworks will remain on consignment, displayed through the gallery’s website until the artist requests works back or until the gallery requests the artist to take works back in the event of no sales after several months.

Promotion: The Gallery shall use its best efforts to promote the sale of the Artworks. The Gallery agrees to provide adequate display of the Artworks, and to undertake other promotional activities on the Artist's behalf, as follows: artist receptions, fliers, press releases, mailing list invitations, internet networking, photography of Artworks and/or Artist, and using material provided by the Artist such as an artist statement, experience, and/or news on the Artist’s progress. Special installation expenses are the responsibility of the Artist. The Gallery shall be in artistic control of exhibiting unless the Artist has a specific layout desired. The Gallery is financially responsible for expenses incurred in the Gallery's exhibitions and other promotional activities undertaken on the Artist's behalf. The Gallery shall identify clearly all Artworks with the Artist's name, and the Artist's name shall be included on the bill of sale of each of the Artworks.

Reproduction: The Artist reserves all rights to the reproduction of the Artworks except as noted in writing to the contrary. The Gallery may arrange to have the Artworks photographed to publicize and promote the Artworks through means to be agreed to by both parties. In every instance of such use, the Artist shall be acknowledged as the creator and copyright owner of the Artwork. The Gallery shall include on each bill of sale of any Artwork the following legend: "All rights to reproduction of the work(s) of art identified herein are retained by the Artist."

Shipping: The artist is responsible for the delivery of artworks to gallery and unsold artworks from gallery. A purchaser’s shipping costs are divided equally between the artist and the gallery. The gallery does not ship glass, so the artist will have to work out a method of shipping or otherwise insure the cost of glass for the purchaser.

Liability: The gallery shall be responsible for the safekeeping of all consigned artworks while they are in its custody. The gallery shall be strictly liable to the artist for their loss or damage (except for damage resulting from flaws inherent in the Artworks), to the full amount the artist would have received from the gallery if the artworks had been sold.
